urban decay naked

did you know that last week i was one of the lucky few who got an email from urban decay saying that i can now purchase their limited bestseller and super out of stock NAKED palette?

unfotunately for me i have to choose between this and the gift for my auntie who got married at 49 (i reached my credit card limit ^_^) so i chose to buy her the gift, even though i was waiting for this palette for four months now.  hey, her's was more important anyway right?  besides, i am not that ugly to begin with hehehe!

here's the gift:

i just psyched myself to think that i don't need another eyeshadow palette and i made the right choice.  besides, i just received the avon neutrals palette last month and the quality is very good, too!  i was so impressed...

this palette is the closest i can get to UD Naked ^_^

i also have new eyeshadows in neutral colors and pastel packaging:

hard candy eyeshadows (the pink is the caramel and green one is butterscotch) are good too, but they have shimmers, not a good idea for office looks ^_^ but they are so darn cute!!!

and the best are the two urban decay eyeshadows i have(upper right): oil slick (black with glitters) and twice baked (brown)! just a little amount is needed and the color already is so rich!

and, my hello kitty eyeshadows are cute, too, but i rarely use them coz i am more into neutrals nowadays...

see the kitty?

it has an applicator at the bottom, which i now use in my sponge nail art ^_^

guess i have to wait for another palette that gives me love at first sight!

stila smudge pot gel eyeliner

its the best of both worlds!

first, because ive tried pencil eyeliner from l'oreal, the noir eye smoker

which is ok if you're after the smudge look, coz pencil eyeliners are the best for smudged smokey eyes.

and having tried liquid eyeliner from 22k, which i would  really love because its the best in control, its as simple as drawing on your eyes, and you get the most defined lines ever.  but the pointed felt, as good as it feels on my eyelids, dries in a few days, which translates to poor investment.

and i also tried to buy a hello kitty gel eyeliner but it smudges even if its dry, so i made a mental note not to buy products unless they have been proven and tested by others.  which means i have to search the internet for reviews first before buying something.

so my current favorite is now stila smudge pot!

i've read that its the most favorite gel eyeliner so i tried one from ebay, i cannot remember how much but it wouldn't be more than 10 dollars, and it's fairly small when i received it but i don't use much so i guess it will last for a year, maybe.

and it really is the best!  its creamy and simple to apply, and with the correct eyeliner brush (i use the one from watson's) you can make a decent line on your eye, you can even wing it if you want.  just let it dry (4-6 seconds) and it won't smudge even until you sleep (or i, sleep, in the afternoons), not like loreal where i wake up with raccoon eyes...

i love it!

k-fed

kristinne is fed up.

it has been the most tiring 2 weeks of my life.  even if i have received half of my ebay purchases from last month, it wasn't enough to make me happy and blog.

it started with this sensor...
it's supposed to be cute coz it's hello kitty, but i hated the reason why it's lighting up so i took it off my blackberry and attached it to my roaming mobile instead.

when i was in college i had a simple sticker sensor at the back of my nokia 3310 that lights up when it receives a call or an sms.  and it made me giggle when it lights up because it means i will receive an sms from bambi soon.  so i had such good memories of it.

unfortunately at this time of my life and even if i have a blackberry, i want to throw away the phone when it lights up especially when im at home coz it only means my boss is going to call and i would probably be searching the internet for something or maybe i did something wrong for the day.

dang i really hated him this week!  it seems my stress level has been up all the time even if i have probably the same amount of work, its just that everytime he calls and asks me to canvass a price for something (5-6 items this week from more than 10 suppliers) it really takes up a lot of time and at the end he changes his mind and i really want to hit the phone so hard at my table just so i wouldn't scream!

my darn hormones are probably to blame.  my first pregnancy was such a breeze compared to this.  starting this week i started to lose appetite and was just eating junk foods even though im really hungry coz the thought of rice and viand makes me vomit.  i was just eating bread yesterday all afternoon.  plain bread and water.  i had to, coz i feel sick when im hungry, but ill feel sick when im too full.

ooh, i saw camella's ad yesterday!  those three kids strolling along their village, and they had ice cream... then i wanted to eat ice cream, too!  so bambi bought one for me, london dairy no less!  but, i didn't eat much because guess what...?  it wasn't on a cone like those kids had.  yay... is this what pregnancy blues mean?

i really miss my son!  he wasn't this picky when he was in my tummy... not even one bit.  i was watching his videos yesterday and i missed him terribly, and i wanted to make time pass so quick and make it december already... anyways, 10 more months and ill be free from waking up so early just to be scolded, free from my boss' (sometimes) unreasonable mood swings, free from being disturbed at home for more work.  free, free, free.

anyways, i have some new stuff that i wanted to review so im going back to work and post them later.

hello kitty plush & pink makeup holder

is it tuesday night already?  i was just wondering why last friday came so fast and tomorrow is our last full-day at work again...

*no complaints here*

yes! one month with X!

since last week i have planned to blog but decided to sleep instead.  ok, real reason is that downloading images halts my plan.  but i really wanted to blog about a lot of things.  one, because i have begun changing my nail polish every two days again, and two, because bambi bought me the cutest, softest, most amazing hello kitty stuffed toy last friday!

"she sleeps most of the time" :)

weeeeee!!! so cute!

i have decided that my character now will be hello kitty, jared has long been kero kero keroppi (because he smiles like him), and bambi, well, maybe bad badtz maru XD

also, since i have been feeling artsy early this week i have decided that instead of buying a brush holder from ebay (below), i'll just make one.  seriously.

ok, apart from the ridiculous price of brush holders and the limitations in design, i have also tons of foam boards in the office, so i just visualized the design and cut the foam boards in different heights.  it took me three hours just to have these:

pretty decent yeah?

hold on...

after much double taping (a little help from bambi, coz im no genius in measurements :)) and stickers and painting, tada!  my own makeup brush holder is done!

it now owns the front area of my drawer because of its cuteness:

im pretty proud of myself! haha...

apart from that, i also had some art on my nails...

first it was this one, manually made.  good thing i didn't use red or it will look like marlboro... its supposed to have rhinestones in the middle v like i saw on the internet but my order from hong kong hasn't arrived yet.

after the blue is the pink!  i was trying to make it like a double french manicure with pink at the end but i made the white area so wide that it looks like a normal stripe design.  bummer.

and last but not the least is the summer color of orange and green!  although its just starting to get cold here i cannot help but like the brightness and happy color feeling on my nails :)

and in one week i have already used up my my acetone bottle.

that's pretty much it.  i have used up all my bragging powers, too...

review time

ok, as promised, no more wallowing.  so im gonna do the second thing i most usually do in my blog which is to make a review of things i own so that you don't have to buy them and make the same mistakes i did.

(...there is laughing in my head)

anyways, nothing bad to say about the first thing on my list which is JML's wet straight pro.  its the hair iron that can be used on dry or damp hair.  because irish' very happy recommended it to me i never thought twice in buying it even though i already have:

philips 8-in-1 hair styer.  very helpful but it takes a lifetime to heat up and forever to finish styling your whole head, especially for curling.  even the simple straightener pisses me off.

conair plimatic trix stix hair straightener.  it heats up decently but my hair gets tangled all the time.  apart from the fact that it only has 3 inches of heating plate.

now we happily go to wet straight pro...

if irish is happy with this product, i am happier!  i can actually straighten my hair even if it is still damp!  (damp, ok? you'll electrocute yourself if you use it on wet hair... then you'd be back at one in straightening your hair :D)  and not only that, i also tried curling my hair and it took only 20 minutes without hurrying.  (for a tutorial on how to curl your hair using a flat iron, click here)  what's more, i did not notice any drying or stiffening in  my hair, which usually happens when your hair dries up from all the heat of the iron.  one morning when i did not have time to style my hair and just went to the office just brushing it, it was still straight and soft.  you can also select your preferred temperature.  i am so impressed...

the only disadvantage is that if you look at it, the buttons for the temperature and power is on the side, and i always accidentally push this every time i use it.  i have learned to avoid it, though the first times were a pain.

quick trivia:  i have read that the peace sign in photographs have been in fashion because the japanese started using them to promote world peace, then the rest of asia followed (that is why most teenagers in asia have photos with the peace sign in friendster and facebook) then the rest of the world.  so, let's promote world peace, everyone!

next review is for a hong kong-made MAC Hello Kitty eyeshadow that i purchased from ebay for just $10 and revlon 12-hour colorstay quad which is a gift from ariane.

yes, it's not really MAC, but who cares?  as long as that mouthless cat with a ribbon is on the label, id be happy to bid for it (lol), but seriously i was suprised to see that it was of good quality, the shadows are so creamy and the bright colors are so lovable!

even the applicator is so smooth and soft!

compared to the applicators i bought from lifestyle which looks spongy, i actually love using mac hello kitty's applicator.  it earned its space in my cosmetic case (i leave my big 120-eyeshadow pack at home and bring mac hello kitty for touch ups or for late mornings :)

meanwhile, ariane sent me this eyeshadow in hope that i might evolve without her knowing that i already did in less than a year when she left.  i guess san diego made her miss me so much that she even sent me a watch from style&co... thanks pokie!

anyways, the revlon eyeshadow's color is very helpful if i want smokey eyes, which is rare.  i tested it for a few days and the colors do have staying power.  and it did not crease or fade.  the only downside is that it came with this applicator that looks worse than my lifestyle sponges.

apart from that, she also sent me 2 nail polishes which i really felt bad about because maricel's pack only has a watch while mine has a lot, so i told her that i only had one nail polish.  ooops...

i love sally hansen nail polishes!

of all the blue nail polishes that i own, i love this the most!  it looks royal blue and my konad plates were happy too!  i began using them again this week..

i was so happy staring at my nails so i gave myself the same pedicure:

that's what i call happy feet! :)

the weekend before christmas!

alu my sister!  i don't know if you're the only one reading my blog but its for all of you in manila to let you know how im doing here, kind of like my public diary exposed for all of you haha..

anyways, the night before the national day holidays, me, maricel, irish and her wanna-be suitor florin went to gosi and had coffee and finalized our schedule for thursday, which is, to have another city centre day.

and so we did go to bcc last thursday, from 11 am until 8 pm.  bambi said it wasn't normal, and i have to get my head checked for psychological problems.  hello, kulang pa nga yun e... di ko pa nalibot lahat-lahat.

(bcc photos)

anyways, bati na kami, but when he saw my post in facebook regarding jacob black this morning, his ears started to give off steam again...

i don't know why im like this, but maybe its because he left me to wander alone a lot of times while he's playing his computer games and so i looked for things to keep me entertained.  and here comes makeup and twilight.  what is he complaining about?  im a completely normal human being.

so while we were in bcc, i saw some shoes that were on sale.  i bought two for my brothers.  that's why i had to fix my bag today, to see if i still have space for pasalubongs and stuff.

i was originally planning to bring only one backpack since i already went home last may and i wasn't planning to give anything to anyone (kuripot haha), but these shoes changed my plan.  so i took a medium-sized stroller bag and included some clothes that were just sitting in my closet and thought that maybe they'll be of better use to my sister, the other one, rj makulit... she adores me.  i don't know why.

so i think i only have some small spaces left and im just gonna buy chocolates and stuff for the family tree... im bad in remembering them all.  i usually just buy stuff and let kristelle distribute them, otherwise i would probably forget the important people.  she wouldn't.  she's a family girl.  and she knows everyone.

next step for me is to pick the important kikay stuff from my drawer, and from that, still i have to pick the ones i can't go without:

i really planned on going light, so ill just pick my favorite brushes, blush, favorite primer, lip gloss and so on.. they will go inside this cute hello kitty bag i bought from ebay:

it opens up like this and it has a mirror, too!

and i probably picked mostly everything, coz i don't buy what i wouldn't use.  but the fave among the faves are:

hello kitty contact lens case (from ebay.  it has sanitized tongs if you don't want to touch your lenses, and a small squirtable bottle for your solution inside)

Be givenchy.  bambi bought this in the airport last may before we went home.  in my excitement i forgot that i had no perfume on. how gross if i was hugged and i smelled like a 9-hour flight... and i only like a few fragrances, coz other smells gives me a headache.  this one's a dream.  but i specifically use this only when im in manila, kind of like a homesick scent...

1.  sephora eye primer
2.  nivea 10-hour lipstick & gloss
3.  mikajy lip brush (i love this!)
4.  loreal eyesmoker in black (my current fave eyeliner)
5.  benefit lip beads (lip exfoliator)
6.  maybelline xxl curl mascara (super long & thick lashes)
7.  contact lens case
8.  sephora face primer
9.  benefit high beam
10.  prestige ultimate brow definer (why i love it?  it has a liner on one end, and a mascara-like brush on the other end)
11. mikajy blush
12. 22k lip palette
13. bare escentuals mineral veil
14. benefit some kind-a gorgeous foundation faker
15. bare escentuals mineral foundation
16.  bare escentuals clear radiance (subtle shimmer without dewiness)
17. benefit blush in thrrrob
18.  olay total effects 7x (my new moisturizer)

1. colourland face brush
2.  bare escentuals flawless face brush
3.  colourland lip brush ( i use it on my eyeliner, and it totally uses every centimeter of it!)
4. colourland flat stiff brush
5.  colourland angled brow brush
6.  bare escentuals maximum concealer brush
7.  angled eyeliner brush (i got it from watson's)
8.  paula's choice pencil brush
9.  smashbox shadow brush
10.  nars smudge brush

im not planning to bring my konad stuff, although i would love to paint rj's nails... i just want to bring stuff that i wouldn;t bring back, coz i know when i come back i'll have a lot to bring.  so maybe next time.

and since i have been in manila earlier this year already, im not planning on splurging anywhere.  ijust want to spend time with my little monster...

to my officemates: thank you for covering up for me.  have a nice holiday!

ps. this is where im going:

hello kitty watches, gel liner & stuff

what surprised me 2 days ago was the arrival of my hello kitty watches that i accidentally saw and won, all in one minute just 10 days ago, coz my winning is as fast as the seller's shipping!

apart from it's fast shipping, it's also super mega cute!!!  and the quality's not bad, i didn't see any weird marks or scratches, the packaging was also carefully thought of... what a winner.

i have been disturbing our new mail collector everyday because i am still waiting for more than 5 items that i bought since November 3 and they still haven't arrived.  those loser sellers!

so this week so far i have only received the watches, my BENEfIT high beam,

which im not a big fan of because it gives the same amount of sheen as my bare escentuals radiance but it wipes off my blush as i tap it on my cheeks... i still don't know how to remedy that, so it's just sitting on my closet.

and my hello kitty black gel liner,

which gel liner smudges slightly but the consistency was good and the accompanying brush was good quality, too.  the first time i used it, i was able to make a good wing out of my left eye, which was usually where i have trouble, aside from being really bad in using liquid liners.  so i gave my old liquid liner to irish and settled with this.

*update: my review after 2 uses: smudge.  it gets on my lids after a few hours, and if i don't layer eyeshadow on top of it, it smudges under my lower lashline, too!  too bad for hello kitty.

along with bcc purchases:

the mascara i got from maybelline (xxl curl power) has a primer that you have to use before the actual mascara and the name XXL was not an exaggeration, coz my eyelashes were obviously longer when i used it.

white creamy primer first,

then the mascara to make your lashes long and full.

and i also bought a new eye primer, sephora tricks of the trade, coz my first one was a bit sticky and makes blending a pain.  it is also hard to get to in the morning when im in a hurry and i don't have time to stick my finger in a little tub and try to melt its hard content.

this one's a breeze to use coz it has a brush and all you have to do was to twist the other end and the product comes out here.  you can then easily swipe the brush onto your lids.

it makes your eyelid smooth and even-colored,  although i have noticed that the colors are much brighter with my first primer, this one i can live with.  maybe i'll keep the first for loose eyeshadows, since it's good and sticky.

and although these past few days i have been interested in neutral eyeshadows... when i had this primer i started noticing the blues and greens again.  new makeup definitely makes me want to wake up early!

*update* my review for this product: it creases my eyeshadow and it doesn't give my eyeshadows that vivid color like their eye base did.

and last but not the least, our new bath salts and bubble gel from va-va-voom:

im a sucker for cute packaging!

these will now be a monthly staple since bambi discovered bubble bath and already finished the first batch i bought.  va-va-voom always has items like these on sale and these were just one dinar each!

i wonder when the others will arrive...
