glues for false eyelashes

i only have ardell lashgrip and duo eyelash adhesive, i ordered them online coz i did not find any locally sold eyelash adhesive here. or maybe i just don't go out that much.

im still new to this stuff, so i will say what i have noticed about them so far...

ardell lashgrip eyelash adhesive is not bad to start with coz it is cheap. it is perfect for newbies who don't want to invest too much on something new. just squirt it (carefully and evenly) through the band of your eyelashes, maybe 1 mm thick, and wait for 40 seconds minimum and you can place your falsies to your eyelashes. i did not understand why but i soon found out that wet glue doesn't stick. when it is slightly sticky, then that is the time to put them on, coz they will cling to your lashes but you will still have enough time to adjust them if you placed it wrongly, as long as the glue is still creamy white. it will turn to clear once dried.

though i find that it squirts a lot of bubbles than glue and if you put a very thin film (i was scared to put a lot before) your eyelashes will fall off in the middle of the day. like this.

the right one is falling off. good thing i can easily take off the left one, or else >.<

or when the wind blows your lashes will fly up and down your eyes :)

so be careful to put just the right amount, coz putting a lot will also deposit a lot of semitransparent latex on your lashes, it won't look transparent anymore and you can't take them off by pulling. got to use a waterproof makeup remover.

ardell 124 lashes with ardell lashgrip adhesive, you can see the white part even when i applied black eyeshadow on top of it (because i loaded up with adhesive this time).

unfortunately, the packaging sucks. i always close it very tightly because i don't want it to dry up, but in less than a month, the screw part tore and fell off with the cap. so i just covered it with cellotape and cut a small hole at the end so i can still use it.

good thing my duo eyelash adhesive (dark-tone) came during the same week that my ardell lashgrip decapitated itself!

duo eyelash adhesive is also waterproof, it is gray when you squirt it, but turns to black when it is dry. i love it coz the staying power is good, better actually, application is okay, but it takes longer to get tacky. i already waited for 40 seconds and, thinking it was like ardell, i placed it on my eyelids and found out that it's still wet. so you have to wait longer.

and also when you place them on your lashes, don't move them too much coz when it gets to your eyelids while it is still wet, the dark-colored glue will go to your eyelids. and stay. like this.

duo eyelash adhesive certainly looks better than ardell, coz it blends well with my lash color.

see, the ardell 110 lashes looked natural here.

of brushes and bristles...

year 2011, and all kinds of brushes are available for all our needs. before, all they use in makeup was sponges: face sponge for foundation and eyeshadow applicator sponges for our eyes. but when i went to sephora i saw a whole area just for face brushes. wow!

i have only a few brushes, because i bought them only for what i need, or when they look so cute (hello urban decay).

first from the left is e.l.f. foundation brush, it is now 2 years old but it still looks and feel the same as the day i bought it. and it is cheap! i got it from watson's for $2 maybe...

i use it with benefit's foundation faker coz it leaves a light finish and doesn't use too much product. the sponge makes a nice finish, too, maybe medium coverage, but it soaks up the product and you end up using twice the amount you need. it is also perfect to use under my eye area, the tapered end is just the right size.

and it is perfect in getting the products left on the corners!

the next one is a blusher brush from the body shop, i got it only recently but i have been wanting it for years.

it feels soft when you brush it on the apples of your cheeks, makes you want to put your blush every now and then, but it takes practice for me to brush on the right areas coz i was used to a big blusher brush, not a flat one like this. but i am using it everyday to get familiar with it, and it goes well with my current blushes.

next is also a newbie: bare escentuals heavenly face brush. it is a super soft flat-top kabuki brush with a very fat body :)

now this is the brush for buffing! i love to swirl it on b.e. mineral foundation but i love it more when i buff it on my face coz it feels very soft, and it is a breeze to use mineral veil with it.

then we have my very first face brush (2009): the bare escentuals flawless face brush for b.e. mineral makeup (4th from the left). it is perfect for mineral makeup coz the bristles gets the powder tucked inside and distributes it evenly to your face, though it reminds me of walis tambo :)

but it feels soft, especially when newly washed. this brush glides through my face when im using it for mineral veil, and it is wide enough to give a nice finish. i can use it for b.e. foundation, mineral veil and b.e. radiance but not for other products, especially compact powders like stila illuminating powder or ponds face powder. the bristles gets hard and bent.

second from the last is a blush brush i got locally, it is a medium sized fluffy dome brush that i use with loreal nude brown blush because it is perfect for putting blush on the lower cheek area to contour.

and the last one is a square-sized flat brush i got locally, too, which i use only for highlighter powders.

and i have a kabuki brush from the body shop, a big dome brush with squat base:

it is awesomely soft, sometimes when i stare at my table i play with it coz it feels good to touch! i use this on compact powders coz the bristles are strong enough, but it doesn't take the products quickly, i have to swirl 3-4 times before i can buff it on my face.

i also have a few brushes for the eyes, i never used sponge applicators because they said it stresses your eyelids creating premature wrinkles.

for putting eyeshadows all over my lids i use either urban decay blender brush or smashbox blending brush. ud blender brush has a wider area so i use it if i want to put eyeshadow all over my lids, it is so easy to use and blending became a breeze when i use this one. while smashbox blending brush is good for that purpose too, i use it mainly to add a darker shade on the outer half of my eyelids (the size is perfect!), so it actually is, for my purpose, is more of a shader brush than a blending brush. these two are a must-have for me coz i use them everyday.

for blending purposes, ud blender brush wins, its soft bristles blend eyeshadows perfectly. i find that smashbox blending brush takes more time in blending and it stresses the eyelids a little bit.

then i have a small dome brush and a smudger brush, used occassionally for applying the darkest shades on the outer v of my eyes, or to smudge eyeliners (remove harsh lines), or to make a smokey effect.

but i can get away without the dome brush, i still cannot master it while the smudger brush is easier to control.

i also have two very thin angled flat eyeliner brush, to top one is slightly longer and softer, so i don't use it coz it's harder to control, while the bottom one is stiffer, so it is perfect for gel eyeliners and applying a thin line of eyeshadow on the lower eyelashes. from watsons :)

next we have two flat shadow brushes, that i rarely use coz ud blender brush is so efficient and multi-tasking, but other eyeshadows (especially on manly palette) tend to have a lot of fall offs when you apply with a blender brush, so these brushes are good to use when you want to apply those kinds of shadows by tapping them gently on your lids.

the third one is either a point concealer brush or a lip brush, i don't know :P

last on my list is a fan brush, which is good for brushing fallen shadows on your cheeks, and extra shadows on your lids. i got it cheap on ebay but its not an essential part of my usual morning routine so its ok.

i don't have a crease brush because i cannot see my crease anyway (chinese eyes). and i only have one lip brush coz i use it only with my mykajy palette. i use my normal lipsticks as they are - straight from the bullet :)

so as they say, you don't need to have a lot of brushes, just the ones you need. and invest on good quality ones, because this is your face we are talking about. and good quality ones tend to last longer and feel better on your skin, too. you don't have to buy the high-end products, there are lots of brushes that are cheap and useful, like elf, smashbox, just search on ebay for trusted sellers and wait for a bargain-priced one :)

make your lipstick last

well, for just a little longer than usual. and don't kid yourself, no lipstick will last when you eat. voraciously.

when i put my lipstick on at 8 in the morning they usually disappear by 9 or 10, depending on how hungry i am :)

nivea 8-hour extreme resist can last until 11 or 12 but it looks dry by that time, putting on the attached lipgloss won't help.

that's why i bought laura geller lip sealer (right). because it is cheap ($10.28 for two with shipping) and urban decay lip primer potion and too faced lip primer costs a lot on ebay, although they got the most raves on internet beauty blogs.

the body shop spiced vanilla lip balm feels good after brushing your lips (for exfoliating purposes), but it leaves a white film on your lips and it makes a slippery base for lipsticks.

first i apply my lipbalm (because lg lip sealer kind of dries my lips), then lipstick, then lg lip sealer. lg lip sealer looks like alcohol, and the applicator looks like a nail polish'. the good thing is, it really helped my lipstick stay for 3 hours more than usual, so yes, it does work. the bad thing is, it stings. when you brush it on your lips it feels (momentarily) like you chapped your whole lips. but only for 3-4 seconds. then it disappears. you won't find any residue, and your lip color won't change. 4 hours maximum staying power, but less if you eat and/or lick your lips a lot.

then when i went to bcc last week with fatty i saw too faced lip primer in sephora. it costs $29. twice the price online, but at least i can have it right then and there. so i bought it and for five days i checked the consistency with different lipsticks.

tf lip primer's applicator is like a lip gloss', the product is a thin white cream and it is so easy to apply. first i apply lipbalm, then after 5 minutes i wipe it off completely so tf lip primer can have a 'bare canvass'. then i use tf lip primer, then lipstick, and lipgloss if i need it.

i have found the 'it' product! it does its job, it doesn't sting, and it makes the lipstick's color stand out. i also noticed that my lips looked smoother when i use it, definitely noticeably smoother. it makes my clear gloss go along with all of my lipstick shades! so perfect with summer!!

though i found that bright lipsticks lasted longer than darker ones, i don't know why. tf lip primer made my nyx margarita look good on me (i usually can't work with frosty lipsticks), it lasted until 1pm, which is my lunch hour, but i admit i did not eat anything except one croissant and a cup of coffee the whole morning. but it was good to know that i don't have to worry about my lipstick until midday, provided i won't lick them or eat greasy foods that will make me lick my lips a lot.

and doll's color (with gloss) just got better!

urban decay sellout (a shade darker than my original lipcolor) lasted only until 11 am, but that was because i had 3 different breads that morning (cheesebread, hopia and loaf bread).

so... too bad i bought 2 pieces of lg lip sealer :( what to do with it now?

it is, after all, the weapon of love. or so urban decay says...

when i was in college i only had one lipstick throughout, i would buy 2-3 pieces of it so i'd have spares in case it gets out of stock. it is a nice shade of semi-nude berry from avon called sugar and spice.

and when i started working i used the body shop's lip and cheek tint. i loved it coz it looks so natural, like the color your lips get when you bite them. and it doubles as my blush then...

but thank you ebay for giving me the chance of buying brands from US that i otherwise wouldn't know, i have a small tray full of lipsticks of different shades and brands.

my first brand though, is locally bought. it is the nivea extreme resist 8-hour lipstick.

but, like all advertisements on earth, it's just words. nivea extreme resist 8-hour lipstick only lasts 4 hours of a normal office day. without coffee or anything, maybe 5. even though it's labelled incorrectly, it is not disappointing because 4-5 hours is ok, instead of a normal one that you have to retouch every 2 hours. it is creamy while you swipe it on your lips but then it dries and become sticky after a few seconds so you really have to use the gloss, you can't use this in matte. and as time passes by, your lips will start drying up and the outcome of the lipstick drying up and disappearing is really unacceptable so you have to check how your lips look by hour 5. i have it in three comfortable shades:

then i saw these on ebay and, im not being judgmental, but the seller being based in hongkong makes me think this isn't really original pieces, but they look so pretty so i bought two:

it is mac's liberty of london lipstick. they were creamy when i got them but now, after two months, has dried up a little so i needed to apply lipbalm first. it lasts 2-3 hours on my lips.

frost. made me realize im not compatible with frosty lipstick.

and then, i saw the most beautifully packaged lipstick ever! (urban decay never fails to do this to us, don't they?)

my officemate was puzzled at the existence of the dagger. i told her UD stands by its motto in lipstick, "it is the weapon of love".

even though it doesn't last that long, i never really minded reapplying anytime anywhere, this is the prettiest in all the bunch. it glides like butter on my lips, smells wonderful, but i have to be careful not to taste it or lick my lips afterwards, i don't know why but these lipsticks taste bitter to me.

shade: sellout. the nearest shade to my original lipcolor, i use this for 'barely there' moods

shade: indecent. i don't use this because it is so sheer, it does nothing on my lips except put small glitters on it.

and then i saw nyx. they are cheap, like $2-4 per piece (including shipping fee), and when i first applied it i only thought of one thing: it is so creamy!

even creamier than the expensive urban decay lipsticks, i swear! and the colors are wow, just one swipe and you get what's on the tube. we were definitely hooked.

shade: tea rose. light pink that should be used with smokey eyes

shade: doll. i got it free, but i ended up using it the most. i love this shade!

shade: indian pink. i cannot use this without a gloss, it lookes so light pink!

shade: margarita. another frosty one.. sigh

shade: eros. bright red a la heart E.

shade: terra cotta. brownish berry shade meant for my sister.

ps. all lipstics were applied without lip primer, which i am so excited to try tomorrow (just got it yesterday). it is suppose to make the colors appear better and to make it last longer, too.

but i exfoliated my lips beforehand with benefit's dr feelgood buffing lip beads and silky lip balm

aside from my mykajy lip palette that i have reviewed before,

i also have three lip gloss from nyx,

but i blogged about them already so i won't blab about them anymore. and also because nyx lipglosses mysteriously dried up even though i am sure i kept them closed very tight. (?)

i don't know why i have so much lipsticks, but for me, it is like going with your moods, some shades are meant for happy days, some for dark days, and some for carefree days, and so on... yes, the lame excuses we girls make :)

urban decay 24-7 VIP liners

i finally had my first set of urban decay's super popular 24-7 liners, which i got not by ebay but by private transaction through paypal because it wasn't available to non-US buyers. good thing my boss have a p.o. box in new york so i had it sent there and aramex delivered it here with a special fee ^_^.

they have the brightest colors, and you get that exact color on your eyes! they are super creamy, too, it is not difficult to line your waterline or eyelids. and the biggest reason, they last the whole day without smudging or disappearing. even if you don't use urban decay's primer potion ^_^

its a delight to select which one i will use every morning :) but you have to wait for it to set or dry before fully opening your eyes, otherwise, and especially with chinese eyes like mine, it will go to your eyelids.

ok, this is not for bragging. well, like 20% bragging rights only.

girls like to post their makeup collection not because they want to brag, but because these collections makes us happy. like a person collecting either stamps or rocks or whatever, of course they feel glad when they get to share it with others.

so don't hate me coz im not here to shout what i have, it is not even a lot. i am just ecstatic when i see these pretty little things and sometimes i just sit on my table looking at them and trying them out again one by one ^_^

time has passed when i can fit all of my makeup in one box:

bambi installed these lights for me, isn't it awesome? and i got the mobile mirror and shelf from centrepoint when they had a sale ^_^ ...the stickers (monokuro boo) are from a local thrift store and they jazz up my simple white wood, don't they?

basically i had the shelf installed and on the top part i have our perfumes, mostly for me. and a pink lotion bottle from daiso.

then the middle part has the hair products like hairgel, hairspray, heat protectant, split ends serum, curling mousse, and my contact lens solution and lotions from belo and m&s. my two contact lens case (pink and blue) that now keeps my used false lashes and eylure lash glue and remover are also here.

then in the bottom shelf i have the eye brushes, and mostly face products, which i will show one by one...

we have smashbox primer, olay complete radiance moisturizer, clarins complexion perfector, olay total white cream (i found in a thai store), sephora eye makeup remover (waterproof), bodyshop vanilla and spice lip balm, jars with gosh primer and nivea face mask, olay white radiance day cream (with spf) and olay natural white night cream. and also benefit high beam.

next line we have olay skin comfort cleansing milk, gosh face primer, sephora face primer and base, b.e. rev-er upper, facial mist bottle (empty), and benefit confessions of a concealaholic box.

on the side of the table i have at the back the clear plastic folder for eyeshadows (from daiso), and my manly eyeshadow palette (barely seen here), the plastic tray for lipsticks, pink drawer for small stuff like false eyelashes, spare contact lenses and hair clips, and a jar for face brushes.

then on the base of the lighting we have:

the plastic tray for face stuff: benefit some kinda gorgeous foundation faker, mikajy blush and highlighter, some free coupons, bare escentuals 9gram jar of mineral veil, loreal blush in nude, nyx blush in spice, benefit coralista blush, bare escentuals 2gram jar of mineral foundation in medium/medium beige mix (in a mineral veil jar), b.e. radiance, and body shop kabuki brush.

face primers

i am finishing all the backlogged photos in my 'to blog' folder because when we go home for vacation i know i won't have time to do that...

so, my reviews this time is for my face primers, which i have learned to use 3 years ago. like eyeshadow primers, face primers preps your skin for smoother application of your foundation, and it helps keep them longer. no more 'natutunaw ang makeup ko' drama ^_^

i always use them after moisturizer / before foundation.

my first primer (i'd like to think of it as a face primer, although bare escentuals actually has a proper primer called prime time foundation primer) is b.e. rev-er upper. it is actually a conditioning cream on a white squirtable bottle. but it's what i prefer to use before buffing on b.e. mineral foundation.

it smells like elmer's glue and looks slightly yellow-orange, but aside from preparing my face for an easier application of mineral powder (if i don't put it on i feel like i am tugging the face brush on my face) it also keeps my face matte all day. not only that, it has salicylic acid and glycolic acids, and other beneficial ingredients that has moisturizing, antioxidant and antiseptic properties. i think this is the secret to b.e.'s motto of "clearer skin by continued usage". i swear by it.

i had the 30ml bottle and for a continued one year use i only used 3/4 of it, so even though it is not really cheap, you get your money's worth.

my second primer is a bargain from ebay (beware of fake items from untrusted sellers: tip a and tip b) called smashbox hybrid 2-in-1, a cool tube within a tube that has artificial light primer (the clear one) and luminizing primer on separate chambers. both primers will come out in equal parts when you squeeze them, but i found a clever way of using the artificial light first and the luminizing primer when i had no more choice.

both of them gets a five-star rating for me, simply because they do their job well. only difference is the super tiny golden specks i get from the luminizing primer that makes me look bronzed, that makes it only perfect for summer. if i can only find another bargain from ebay i will definitely repurchase but i would like to try the photofinish variety. i heard it's good, too.

my third one is from our local sephora store, called sephora smoothing primer. i remember the day we bought it, coz irish and i were trying out the samples on the counter and we were both amazed at how smooth our skin was when we tried it on so we bought it immediately. they did not need to convince us ^_^

basically it is like a silicon gel, (you know the one they use to seal the aquariums) but softer. you only need a small amount, like a green-pea size, to use for your face and neck. and it works so well that i purchased another bottle, and would have purchased a third one when i ran out again if only they did not get out of stock. but the bottle is so small (15ml only) so it will last you only a month if you use it every morning. but i love it coz it goes so well with benefit foundation faker. and the squirtable frosted glass bottle looks so cute. unfortunately it will not give you all of the product inside, the squirt will not take out the remaining 2-5 ml of product left.

as i said, they ran out of smoothing primer once, so i had to buy its alternative, called sephora base sublimatrice primer. it is a beige cream and has the same bottle as the smoothing primer but does none like it. it is just like ponds, just a basic base for makeup. it does not make my face smooth and does not make my makeup last. i am just using it to finish it. but i think this will be fine for lazy days when you just want to look natural and have nothing heavy on your face.

benefit's that gal is labelled as a primer, but as i said before, i don't use it as one. just read my previous post for more details.

and the one i am currently using right now is the gosh velvet touch foundation primer. i had loads of samples of this (6 sachets of 2ml each) and i put it in a small jar and it lasted for more than a month ^_^. but all good things come to an end and i have to purchase the bottle legally last week.

you know how much i loved sephora's smoothing primer? it is exactly like that. i checked their ingredients and it is almost the same. the good thing is, sephora's cost $15.92 per 15ml bottle, but this cost $23.87 per 30ml, and you know how i love bargains! it is in a clear squirtable plastic bottle that gives you exactly the amount you need, the squirt is not hard to deal with. so now i have switched ^_^!

great finds from daiso!

our local japanese savings shop is one of my favorite because i can find a lot of things that i normally wouldn't see in any of the malls here, plus the fact that they have a standard price of $1.86 on most items. if i only took a picture you would see their vast collection of items both useful and decorative, unfortunately i am always in a hurry to do that.

since my sister requested some earplugs (she couldn't find a comfortable one in manila, my own shopping mecca), i passed by there and i bought her wish and some other stuff, too...

3 pairs per pack x 3 packs. i hope she is satisfied.

this is my second squirtable bottle, the first one cracked when i bought it and instead of letting it go i bought another one coz it's so darn cute! i put my coconut lotion in here coz the bottle looks old.

individual false eyelashes

before i tried full strip lashes (which i now love and use almost everyday), i had two boxes of individual lashes: one from eylure and one from ardell called duralash naturals. i kind of like the way they look on lisa eldridge in her video so i started with them but then got hooked on strip ones.

the one from eylure has a lash glue and glue remover included in the box, called superfix and liftoff, and it has short, medium and long ones. i almost finished the short coz the medium and long ones look comical for me.

beware, the glue is semi-permanent. the remover takes them off, but it takes a lot of effort.

yes, they said it is semi-permanent, but it only lasted a few days for me. unfortunately, they don't fall off at the same time, so sometimes you will have full lashes on your right and some-some on your left. so i was forced to remove all of them by day 4.

and the one from ardell has no extras included and has only one length per box (they have a separate box for medium and long), which is perfect because i only use short ones!

the difference with them, apart from above, is the knot. see, the eylure (bottom) has a knot at the base of the false lashes, while the ardell (top) has none.

so, when you place them on your lashes, ardell has definitely the more natural look, especially when you close up on the camera, or people will take a closer look, if you have eyelure, then they can see the knots at the base of your lashes. and therefore losing the point of wearing individual lashes: that is because youre going for a more natural look. some strip lashes are more on being dramatic, while individual lashes are more of "just enhancing" your lashes.

plus the fact that when i used the semi-permanent glue (coz i wanted them to last for weeks) it hurts when i wash my eye area, because the knots are scratching my eyelids. i did not get this problem with ardell duralash naturals, and i don't use the semi-permanent glue anymore, i use the strip lashes glue instead.

and that's why i used ardell on the photos below to show how individual lashes look:

because ardell lashes did not have a glue included, i was forced to buy a lash glue from the same brand (and same ebay seller) and a lash glue remover, too. i was thinking of hating the feeling of running out of lash glue (eylure has such a small amount) and the combined shipping savings helped, too.

basically, ardell lashtite adhesive is like eylure that will last for 4 weeks or more (or so they say, mine only lasted for 4 days) depending on how carefully you clean your eyes. but it dries faster than eylure, that's why you have to pour only a small amount on an aluminium foil (like a bead-sized amount) and then pour some again after two lashes. i only hate that the screw top doesn't have the stick like eylure coz it will be easier to put adhesive from a stick than pouring it direct from the small bottle. i always put more than i have to.

the lashfree remover , however, works the same as eylure, but as i said, it takes effort to remove them and for first timers, it will hurt a lot.

i am not planning on using them right now but at that time i was high on shopping. and they kind of helped when my stila rose gold illuminating powder lost its glue.

pour a small amount here (that is the old glue from stila)

and problem fixed ^_^. now you only have to worry about the smell :(

a quick review for body shop tea tree oil cover stick, which i only purchased to because of combined shipping savings when i bought a blusher brush from the body shop.

it looks like this and i got mine in medium (they only have 3 shades):

and i am so happy to say that it works! i use this in the morning after benefit's foundation faker. i just dab it on my pimple, blend it with my fingers, and the next day, i dont have to use it anymore coz the redness is gone. honestly...

and even if you have a lot of pimples, i don't think you have to repurchase soon coz you only need a small amount, i think it will last for about 6 months to 1 year, depending on usage.

how to use: put a small amount (green pea size) on the tip of your index fingers and massage on your eyelids, then wipe with a cotton wool/ pad to remove make up.

it really is as easy as that! it will remove even your mascara. the good thing with this makeup remover is that it is so gentle, but so effective. i use it every night.

it doesn't remove false eyelashes though, i have to use sephora's waterproof makeup remover to do that. which does work, but i hate the oily feel afterwards.

it is half blue liquid, half white with tiny crystals which you need to shake first otherwise (happened to me first time) it will sting your eyes big time. how to use? pour a small amount on a cotton wool/pad and gently wipe your eyelids.

it does its job but the oily afterfeel makes me want to wash my face again. but it does a great job in removing glue in my false eyelashes!

so far, those are my only makeup removers, i had a givenchy sample before but after sampling a lot of eyeshadows it kind of burned my eyelids so i gave it away.. >.<

i have been using bare escentuals for 3 years now and i will never use another mineral product except b.e. even if i have to order them from US and pay for extra shipping fee.

anyways i was delighted to see them at our local sephora store until i saw that their prices are so ridiculously high that even if i order from US with extra shipping fee, it will still be cheaper than what they have here.

but anyways, i bought the small try-me kit called TRY.BELIEVE.LOVE because i want to give one to my sister so she will not take the big ones i have. clever, huh?

they only have it in Medium

it includes 2 foundation samples: medium and medium beige, one mineral veil sample jar and one warmth sample with a very cute miniature face brush.

i saw one kit in ebay that includes a small concealer brush, i don't know why they don't have it here. and each kit only costs $20 in the US site of sephora and b.e., while here it costs $26.50.

but don't be fooled, when i say small, i mean small. this is how it looks when i put them beside the normal sized b.e. powders and brush:

the kit includes only the small jar at the bottom, the middle jar is the normal 2 gram sized b.e. powder, and the top jar is the giant 9 gram powder. the face brush is also miniature compared to my normal sized b.e. flawless face brush.

anyways i put them at the backside of my makeup table so i will not a. use them b. lose them.

but when i ran out of b.e. foundation, i sneaked a small amount from the two sample jars and mixed them up. this is how medium differs from medium beige (i realized only now)

i ordered brown contact lenses from contactlensxchange.com because francis is still not used to the fact that my eyes are now honey-colored ^_^

anyways, i got them in brown, with my new prescriptions (500/600)

and guess what? they arrived in just one week (i was expecting three-four weeks) even though i ordered in the US. although, i think they have a base in singapore coz my parcel came from there.

whatever, i was just not used to online stores being so quick in their delivery. i was so happy and im excited to try them out later!

they are also half the price than what i paid for when i bought my honey lenses here in bahrain. it cost me BD14 ($37) each box which has two lenses, and since i have different grades for my left and right eye i have to purchase 2 boxes, so it was a relief to find them cheap and reliable!

here is the comparison for honey vs brown:

honey is really so light in color, i have friends who got shocked when i first wore it. brown is a more comfortable color for me.

quick review:
although freshlook is a popular brand, i would rather buy my old brand FOCUS. although i have no difficulty in putting freshlook lenses and while it is in my eyes, it is very comfortable. however if i have to remove it from my eye and i have no solution on hand, i find it very difficult to put back because it dries so easily. not like Focus. i kind of panicked when i removed freshlook from my eyes because i thought it would tear because it was so dry. good thing i placed it back on my eyes before it happened.

DIY facial mist a la green tea

i love green tea as a drink, but for a facial mist? why not?

since it is full of anti-oxidants, it is probably good for my face ^_^ and it is easy as 1-2-3:

let your green tea bag stand in half a cup of boiling water. half a cup only, since you cannot finish 1 cup in a week, and you need to replace it weekly.
when totally cold, put it in a clean spray bottle. refrigerate if you want.
after cleaning your face, spray liberally all over. massage it gently then spray again. then apply your moisturizer/suncscreen/whatever the heck you want to put in your face.

yes, i labelled it, in case i use the other spray bottle which contains alcohol (LOL)

you can also carry a small spray bottle in your purse for a quick and refreshing spray any time of the day!

you may not see the results quickly, but at the very most it is at least a cheap alternative to supermarket facial mists!

these pump-dispensers (plus spray) are cheap on ebay, i bought the set for $3. and only one piece of pump dispenser i saw in bcc costs the same!

yes, i labelled them, too. i have monica-like oc-ness..

this is convenient for the nail polish remover, coz in nail art you have to keep the nail polish remover at your side all the time, and keeping the cover open vaporises it.

so using this, just pump the dish at the top of the bottle to get some NPR. releasing the pump keeps the NPR on the dish, ready for a quick dip from your best friend, the cotton bud. and the rest is safe inside the bottle. bless them for inventing it ^_^

aside from this, let me share other bargain finds:

how to prepare for an evacuation

because we have an unstable status here right now, and i saw our embassy's contingency plan this morning, i would like to share an evacuation plan in case we need one. i can't make this all up by myself, of course i got it from the internet... high five internet, high five!

i did panic buying like everyone else last thursday, but i think i have to do it again coz i finished most of the biscuits and bread over the weekend ^_^

1. make sure you have enough water for at least two weeks. especially for me coz i have my little one, i stocked extra in case the cold stores run out of bottled water.

1. i have also stocked some milton sterilising tablets, which kills bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores. it will take over sterilising the baby's bottles in case of a black out. and to sterilise drinking water in case of a water shortage. cool huh...

2. have extra cans of powdered milk for the little ones. and diapers.

2. i have also stock rice, bread and other carb and protein-rich food, and easy to cook noodles.

3. make sure the important documents (passport, birth certificate, etc) are in a safe and easy to find location.

4. prescriptions and medicines should also be on-hand. especially for the babies.

5. keep cash on hand for emergencies. also make sure that you have extra load on your mobile (and batteries) and petrol on your car.

6. a first aid kit may come in handy. alcohol, cottons, lighter (for sanitizing items), scissors, flashlight, thermometer and other stuff you may need, like hand sanitizers (for water-free cleansing) and tissues.

7. hygiene products, if you are going to be stuck in an evacuation site, at least you don't have to ask others for shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.

8. if you are going to bring canned foods, don't forget the can-opener ^_^

9. three change of clothing is acceptable. but more for babies.

10. if you are expecting a water shortage, disposable utensils and resealable plastic bags are handy.

11. contact lens wearers, don't forget your solutions.

12. most of all, don't panic.

life can be stressful at times but if you prepare beforehand, you can at least save time and worry about the more important stuff. like finding an airplane. ^_^

from what i remember, once he was in a desert and for hydration he opened a dead camel's stomach and squeezed the undigested stuff to his mouth, and once he also used snakeskin to store his pee and drank it a little while later... and he also ate big grubs (white worms resembling catterpillars but without hairs) and spiders RAW! and my most favorite: using his fingers as bait. he actually caught a 20-pound fish!

did you know that last week i was one of the lucky few who got an email from urban decay saying that i can now purchase their limited bestseller and super out of stock NAKED palette?

unfotunately for me i have to choose between this and the gift for my auntie who got married at 49 (i reached my credit card limit ^_^) so i chose to buy her the gift, even though i was waiting for this palette for four months now. hey, her's was more important anyway right? besides, i am not that ugly to begin with hehehe!

here's the gift:

i just psyched myself to think that i don't need another eyeshadow palette and i made the right choice. besides, i just received the avon neutrals palette last month and the quality is very good, too! i was so impressed...

this palette is the closest i can get to UD Naked ^_^

i also have new eyeshadows in neutral colors and pastel packaging:

hard candy eyeshadows (the pink is the caramel and green one is butterscotch) are good too, but they have shimmers, not a good idea for office looks ^_^ but they are so darn cute!!!

and the best are the two urban decay eyeshadows i have(upper right): oil slick (black with glitters) and twice baked (brown)! just a little amount is needed and the color already is so rich!

and, my hello kitty eyeshadows are cute, too, but i rarely use them coz i am more into neutrals nowadays...

i really love the smell of this perfume! i usually don't put anything on me but since i bought it, i use it everyday! i don't even use the others anymore...

but maybe for some occasions...

i want to collect the whole set of body fantasies but only in small bottles like this; and mwah in satin is the only perfume i will buy in bench, it has a good packaging too; escada was a gift (i gave the other one away coz it smells too sweet it gives me a headache); be givenchy is my "manila scent", i only use it during vacation period; love of pink is my ultimate favorite, and angel's breath is a childhood scent that i can't get away from ^_^

now im going to stay away from moschino hippy fizz. otherwise.....

my take on benefit confessions

finally, after months of wishing, i finally gave in to buying benefit's confessions of a concealaholic. actually, i gave in two months ago, i was just really lazy in blogging.

aside from cute packaging:

it has 6 products that are not full size but are not exactly travel size also, apart from that gal. what a great way to try out the products before buying the full size, right?

and it looks like a diary and it also has an instruction book inside to inform you where to use each product.

so, cute packaging aside, my take on each product is....

that gal
if you are a regular user of face primer, like me, you would be surprised to see that instead of a clear primer, this one is pink. because im used to primers being clear, i don't actually use this as a primer. aside from the fact that i regularly get gosh face primer samples in our local pharmacy :) i don't think i will ever run out of it ;P

so i use it as a brightening cream in the afternoon. and it's not dramatic, but the pink sheen it gives to my cheeks is nice.

erase paste
using the brush included, i blend this in my inner under eye area and it does eliminate dark circles. it is creamy and heavily pigmented. however, if you do not have really dark undereye circles, like me, i think you can get away with benefit's some kinda gorgeous foundation faker. aside from the fact that, i think, this concealer makes my eyeshadow travel from the upper eyelid to the lower under eye area, that's why i put it in the inner part only. coz if i put in all over the under eye area, my eyeshadow decides to migrate.

those are the two round pots in the middle. personally, i use this on the sides of my nose to get the redness out but for pimples, not a good idea coz it wipes out easily.

the pink rectangle, is something that i can do without. some afternoons i pat it on the inner part of my eyes and my officemate would notice something different in me, but some afternoons they don't. so i skip this most days...

i haven't really tried this yet. it says its for upper lids, creating a base for your eyeshadows, but who would use this if you have shadow insurance or UDPP, right?

the brushes
one of the best part of this kit is that the brushes has a name, so you do not use the same brush on different products! and the brush is synthetic and of good quality, too...

so all in all, i like it, and it's a cute addition to my table, but i only like erase paste the most. the other products are skippable.

sweet home 3d!

it is so easy to make a model of your dream house, and it has 2 views : layout view and 3d view. i think i have 4 houses modelled from this app complete with stairs and curtains and wall paints. the only downside is that you have to model each floor one by one (no, you cannot make them like you do in the sims!)

you can see from their gallery here what you can do

but the good part is that now we are going to start our house and im gonna finalize the layout i made before so i can send it to the philippines then they can start with the blueprint stuff, etc....

waking up from a deep slumber

since i went for vacation last december 2009, i always said that i was like a zombie, just cruising my daily life without gusto, but now that my second baby, yvaine, is here, i am like a super duper awake mother. she cries like she's been spanked! all the time!

bambi spoils her... she'll be a super duper daddy's girl.

so that's my excuse for not blogging for a very loooong time.

and my inspiration for making my (probably) last post in 2010 is my makeup table!

bambi made me one, finally!!! i was so happy and most of yvaine's sleeping hours i just sit there and stare at the sparkly, glossy, and super awesome makeup collection that i have. i don't have a lot. but i used to place them before in the corner shelf that we have:

but now i feel like a girl coz i finally have a place to have them like a proper kikay girl would have:

and i use everything here! i don't buy anything i don't use, and most of these items have been replenished a lot of times because i stick to a product once i deemed it 'tested and proven' ^_^

pregnancy update

i cant believe na isa lang ang post ko for august... what happened? hehe...

so sa ngayon ay 61 kilos na ko. starting at less than 50 kilos before i got pregnant, disente na siguro ang weight gain ko ngayon, di tulad ng first pregnancy ko na akala ko free for all food galore na araw araw (lol)..

33 weeks pa lang, although ang bilang ng ob ko is 35, nakalimutan nya siguro na namove yung date of conception ko ng 2 weeks, haller, kaya nga ko nabuntis e, kung sumunod ba naman ang ovary ko sa schedule nya e di dapat safe ako non, anyways, im still happy, especially today kase nakita ko sa panaginip ko ang baby girl ko!!! hindi sya kasing puti ni kuya jared pero taba-taba sya ng onti, saka cute pa rin syempre...

grabeng super likot, iniexpect ko ngang lumabas sya before september ends, tho' october 6-18 ang expected delivery date ko. at eto na naman ako, natatakot sa labor.

di tulad dati na wala akong iniexpect, parang mas takot ako ngayon dahil alam ko na kung gano kasakit :S

sana nga lang mas less na sya ngayon... at mas mabilis!

meron lang akong pinag iisipan at... hindi na safe magpublish sa facebook dahil andon na lahat ng pamilya mo. imagine pati mga 'bonus' na kapatid mo nakalink na rin sayo sa facebook. tatay. auntie. inlaws. old church friends. old classmates. kapitbahay. at yung mga nagbebenta na rin ng damit at sapatos.

bakit nga ba magkaiba ang priority ng nanay at tatay? ang nanay, ang priority - pamilya. ang tatay - pagpupundar.

ano ang mas pagsisisihan mo pag nawala sayo? kung pareho silang kailangan mo para mabuhay?

mag iipon ka nga para sa kinabukasan, pero hindi mo naman naranasan ang sarap na buo ang pamilya. sama-sama lalabas. o mag lalaro. magpa-park.

o sama-sama nga kayo, pero matitiis mo bang hindi kayo makakain... ok, hindi naman masyadong oa, matitiis mo bang hindi maibigay sa anak mo ang mga kailangan nya? yung pag tinitignan nya yung laruan ng ibang bata tapos (naexperience ko to nong bata pa ko) aantay sya ng turn nya maglaro, pero sandaling-sandali lang dahil kukunin na uli ng bata yung laruan nya?

di ba ang universal motto ng mga magulang ay "gusto kong maranasan nya yung mga hindi ko naranasan dati"...

i have no interest in painting my nails since last week. maybe because their awfuly short now... ill just have wait for a few more weeks.

though i received my most awaited rimmel insolence, CND stickey and Seche vite from amazon already...

which confuses me. CND said their stickey is 3-free (that's why i bought it), which means there is no toulene, folmaldehyde or DBP, but when i checked the ingredients in the bottle, hello toluene! seche vite has it too, but at least they don't advertise that they are 3-free. which also adds to my disinterest for nail art this week.

toluene, DBP and formaldehyde are the ingredients that health buffs are rallying against nail polish manufacturers to be removed because of harmful effects to the body, although its still being debated because of the 'insignificant' amount of it in nail polish to cause a concern. but still i did not use any during my first trimester, when the baby's organ development is crucial. and also i hated the fumes...

good thing my sally hansen and rimmel is free of those... but for konad? good luck, DBP and toluene are both present. that's why i would never paint konad straight on my bare nails again.

in the meantime im just using the cuticle oil i received last week from a seller in hong kong. and i love cuticle oils on bare and buffed nails, so after using magiff buff (you know those three-way buffs?) i just use these pen dispensers and voila, presentable bare nails.

5th prenatal appointment

i gained 2 kilos in one month. haha. total weight gain now is 6 kilos, and im just on my 6th month... prepare for some serious weight gain now that im finishing my 2nd trimester :D

last night was my 5th prenatal appointment, no ultrasound (not again) but i was surprised to see a scheduled vaccination for diphtheria/tetanus... so i went home with a sore arm which still hurts until now...

plus another disappointment from pizza hut when i was expecting a very large pizza (it says 'calls for teamwork') and it turns out it just almost as big as their large. stupid flyers floating around...

im just happy to go home these days coz i see my bravia :)

tulad ni jared, me music lessons na rin si bopbop baby kahit in utero pa rin sya :) same music kase hindi ko naman dinelete sa mac ko ung johnson & johnson's, mozart at nursery songs ni jared dati.

kaya hindi ako magtataka kung dancing queen din ito paglabas haha...

kagabi naka-surround pa kami kaso na-boring ako kakakinig (nakikisali kasi) kaya ngayon sa headphones na lang, sya na lang mag isa makinig habang nasa office kami...

araw-araw na to hanggang lumabas na sya... ano kaya, singer ito o dancer din tulad ni kuya?

pregnancy take two

5 and a half months into my second pregnancy and i can already list the differences between jared and our new baby..

of course, now im not so paranoid about food and drinks, but still a little careful on what i put inside my tummy.

in comparison, i could call myself detoxified when i found out i was pregnant for the first time. i was decided to do everything right. but now im more relaxed. i don't worry about the small stuff like being super healthy all the time.

i did not drink coffee or tea, unlike now - but i only take decaf to wake myself up in the morning, and only a few warm sips. and tea once in a while, when i feel so full from breakfast.
i was always drinking calcium-fortified milk in the evenings before. maybe that's why jared has such strong teeth... (ok, i better start doing that again somehow)
i was super into cooking. even if it's hot in the kitchen, every night i'd be thinking of something to cook just to hear the garlic pop when i put it in hot oil... i loved it then. but now i actually had a restaurant deliver food every lunch so i don't have to cook until dinner...
i loved oranges with jared. now i like mangoes.
i felt prettier then. i think my skin is dull nowadays.
i was hardworking, i wanted people to say 'wow, she's a working pregnant lady!' and i even worked until the first day of my labor. now i always envy people who can wake up anytime they like and i try finding excuses to not go to work in the morning.. and in the afternoon :)
i never had trouble sleeping before. now i feel aches and pains in my back, and cramps on my legs. and i always wake up in the middle of the night...
i felt my baby kick earlier than usual, just 4 and a half months into pregnancy, and i feel her kick more painful now that im on my way to 6 months! its like jared's nine-month kick.
i still did not have morning sickness, and just a little vomiting spell in the morning, but headaches are such a pain this time around, they usually come every two weeks and stay for 2 days... though my OB told me it's safe to take paracetamol im still determined not to take medicines when im pregnant. (bambi was kind of amazed when i went through childbirth without any painkillers at all...)
omg, the constipation... its worse!
junkfood cravings - double up! but my meal portions are smaller now.

one good thing though, i learned that being pregnant doesn't mean its a free for all buffet all the time. i previously thought it was a good excuse to eat whatever i want and blame the weight on the pregnancy. but now i only eat what i can, coz too much or too little makes me vomit.

next update: wait til im 9 months.

simula nung bata pa kami, naglalaro kami ng sinulid, karayom at lapis para malaman kung ilan ang magiging anak mo at kung sinu-sino ang babae o lalaki. meron pa ngang huhulaan ka daw kunyari, tapos dpeende sa ridges sa gilid ng palad mo e malalaman din kung ilan ang magiging junakis mo...

naisip ko lang, pano kung di magkapareho ang lalabas sa inyo ng asawa mo? haha, lagot sya...

so anyways, alam ko na kahit dati pa na lalaki talaga ang magiging first baby ko. kaya ang confident ko non nung iniscan na ko ng radiologist dahil di pa man nya sinasabi, alam ko na (at kita rin ung tutuy bago pa man sya magsalita haha). pero ngayon...

di ako ganon ka-confident kahit alam ko sa loob ko na babae ang second baby namin. lagi kasi akong natatalo pag nakikipagpustahan ako kay bambi. kaya napasigaw talaga ako sa tuwa nung sinabi ng radiologist na babae sya! babae po ang anak ko! ang saya saya ko grabe!

ngayon alam ko na na tama pa rin ang chinese lunar calendar :D

at ang pinakaexciting sa lahat? MAGSHO-SHOPPING AKO NG MGA PINK NA BABY STUFF!!! aminin, ang sarap magshopping noon para kay jared dahil first baby at excited ka sa lahat ng mga nakikita mo sa mothercare, pero ngayon, mas excited ako kase ang dami-daming cute na gamit para sa babae! i can't wait for my 8th month! para masimulan na ang shopping!!!

strawberry-scented nail polish remover, sally hansen pink and blue, claire's violet and chocolate brown, small avon mirror shine nail polish, clear nail polishes, avon liquid freeze quick dry spray, cuticle oils, collection 2000 nail polishes, china glaze matte magic, konad nail polishes, stampers, scrapers, metal plates, magiff buff, konad emery board, butterfly canes and rhinestones.

and, eto ang nail polish ko this week, pangalawa na to kase ayoko nung una, kaya nga hindi ko na pinicture-an...

review: avon liquid freeze quick dry spray

if, like me, you get impatient waiting for your nails to dry...

and if, like me, you tend to feel like going to the bathroom as soon as you put the top coat on your nails...

and if, like me, you wake up with bedsheet marks on your nails...

and you get so pissed off because you worked so hard on your nail art, or you just felt like all the efforts waiting for the first coat, second coat, konad, then top coat on your nails to dry have been useless...

then this is one solution for you!

i have seen so many fast dry spray but this is the most environment-friendly coz it doesn't have aerosol propellants.

and the most important answer of course - yes it works!

it does dry your nails like magic, and with just three sprays on each hand since one spray can reach 2-3 nails.

problem is, the oil. it's super oily. so if you are super impatient and you spray after each coat, you have to wash your hands thoroughly afterwards because the next coat will not stick if your nails are oily.

so i only spray after konad and after top coat. i just let the first two base coats dry naturally. but, since it still cuts my nailpolish time in half, im pretty satisfied with it...

also: quick review for sephora purifying brush shampoo

of course, when my baby's shampoo ran out i tried to buy a more professional brush cleaner since the OC in me wants to wash them every week (daily for the foundation brush, which, i found out, was the cause for my previous pimples just because i didn't realize you have to wash it daily...)...

and i found it in sephora, which is triple the price of a baby shampoo but makes my brushes so soft, plus the fact that it is antibacterial :)

ive been using this bottle for 5 months now and it is still half-full, so i think you're money's worth it, and your face, too. my bare escentuals kabuki brush never felt softer even when it was new until i wash it with this, and it decently cleans my eyeshadow brushes and eyeliner brushes, too.

never mind the eye primer on the photo, too faced shadow insurance works, everyone knows that. im just trying to finish it so i can compare it to urban decay primer potion.

hay nako, me umiiyak na naman sa tabi ko.

tatlong taon nya nang iniiyakan ang kanyang long, long, looong lost love pero hanggang ngayon di pa rin maka-get over! nakakaloka. ako matagal na ang isang linggo pag naheartbroken ako, sya hanggang ngayon madrama pa rin ang buhay nya.

bummer of the week

when we, maricel, irish and i, went to bcc last time i bought this gorgeous green sparkle eyeliner coz im a sucker for glitters and green eye stuff... i thought it was reasonable for seven dinars coz it was so pretty!

and it was a breeze to put and it takes only a little while to dry, and its super pretty on the eyes!

anyways, i was browsing ebay and i saw that body shop has a similar one for two dinars only! i was super bummed out! when i see a similar product that is cheaper, especially if i bought the more expensive one already, i really ... ugh... i hate that feeling!

anyways, when it came i tried it asap and i was consolated because sephora dries more quickly while the body shop takes a while, which means you cannot look up for a few minutes otherwise the glitters will go all over the eyelid. but apart from that it's still pretty, because of the sparkles, of course...

a little smaller than sephora, but still a catch at two dinars!

now i have green and silver... yey!

nilabhan ko sya sa washing machine and ngayon ang bango bango na nya! then naalala ko si titoy...

naliligo din daw sya sa washing machine, lol

hindi na ko masyadong nakakanood ng pilipinas got talent, after hindi makasama si rolando sa finals... hindi na rin ako nanonood ng agua bendita at rubi... mas gusto ko na lang matulog, katabi si porky at hello kitty...

its the best of both worlds!

first, because ive tried pencil eyeliner from l'oreal, the noir eye smoker

which is ok if you're after the smudge look, coz pencil eyeliners are the best for smudged smokey eyes.

and having tried liquid eyeliner from 22k, which i would really love because its the best in control, its as simple as drawing on your eyes, and you get the most defined lines ever. but the pointed felt, as good as it feels on my eyelids, dries in a few days, which translates to poor investment.

and i also tried to buy a hello kitty gel eyeliner but it smudges even if its dry, so i made a mental note not to buy products unless they have been proven and tested by others. which means i have to search the internet for reviews first before buying something.

so my current favorite is now stila smudge pot!

i've read that its the most favorite gel eyeliner so i tried one from ebay, i cannot remember how much but it wouldn't be more than 10 dollars, and it's fairly small when i received it but i don't use much so i guess it will last for a year, maybe.

and it really is the best! its creamy and simple to apply, and with the correct eyeliner brush (i use the one from watson's) you can make a decent line on your eye, you can even wing it if you want. just let it dry (4-6 seconds) and it won't smudge even until you sleep (or i, sleep, in the afternoons), not like loreal where i wake up with raccoon eyes...

i love it!

yesterday we went to bcc to exchange bambi's green adidas to a black one... and he's worse than me in shoe-shopping. he takes 30 minutes to decide if he likes one and changes his mind again. and again. and again.

but its ok coz he shops only once in a while and most of the time its him who is waiting for me to finish shopping. but honestly it's not shopping when im with him - its more hurrying than shopping.

that's why i was so happy to go out with maricel and irish last thursday coz when girls go to the mall, its a different thing. even though i was so tired, i had that feeling of contentment as we were on our way home which i sometimes don't feel when i go out with bambi.

so after bench, yes we have a bench store here in bahrain, we went to claim our prize at chili's.

yes, they contacted me finally! and the very hospitable resto manager Mr Mark was so accommodating that we did not feel awkward about our free meal, ever... he even helped us have the best food! we had such a good time.

katz gave us a double cheeseburger meal from mcdo this morning. i don't know why but she said it was free! i munched the fries as soon as i sat on my desk and then i remembered jollibee...

he always had a soft spot in our hearts... maybe because of the mascot or the perpetual busy-ness of their store or the scent of the food, but all ofws does not, i am sure of it, does not go back to abroad without eating at jollibee's...

i am always staring at this image in my desktop and just content myself with mcdonalds... but i really miss the smell of jolliburger! and the chickenjoy plus the gravy... and the spaghetti omg...

ok, i admit it - i regret it so much!

been denying it these past few days but i finally realized that i do, i do regret selling all my nail polishes, especially my konad ones!

from top to bottom, left to right: 2-way nail art pens, deep and light violet, whites, orange and red, deep adn light green, blues, silvers, golds, yellows, black, clear top, bubblegum and french and dark pinks, blue and pink glitter tops, and konads (green, red, white, black, super new unused blue, and yellow)

when i found out i was pregnant, again, i gathered all my nail polishes and sold them to irish. what's more, i gave her some freebies to encourage her to buy all of them...

bonus: rhinestones, clipper and special nail art brushes.

(i also told her to sell our wii at that time)

i know, im an idiot! i was actually thinking about not using nail polish until mid-2011, because i don't want to when im pregnant, and i probably cannot when i give birth (and a few months afterwards)...

this was my last nail polish last january...

black nail polish with silver french tip and 3 rhinestones on my ring finger.

and unfortunately, i saw my butterfly nail art last weekend and started doing nail art again. i did not sniff the polishes ok, and im 4 months pregnant - as far as my research tells me, there are no more harm as my baby has finished developing the major organs and is simply growing nowadays... yes, i did my research, and although they said there are no medical proofs that nail polishes poses any harm, i was decided not to use it especially on my first trimester - where the baby's cells are developing into organs, coz i don't want any harmful fumes at that time. so i thought i won't be using them and they might as well harden by the time i was going to use them again, i should sell them and get good money for it right?

but now i really regret it because i have collected some really good colors and i like them all...

just last weekend i began painting my nails again. i did it in the bathroom (to let the smell be carried away as i did it near the big windows) and i did not want the scent to linger in our bedroom.

since the only nail polish that was left to me were sally hansen's blue and pink, and claire's violet plus the mirror shine from avon, i skipped the nail plates and just used the blue polish and added some butterflies.

and now i really really regret selling all those beautiful nail polishes...... now i have to start collecting again.

last friday we were supposed to watch iron man 2 at 5pm but bambi decided to wait for pilipinas got talent at tfc... and so we waited until 5:30, it's original timeslot. 6:00... 6:30... then by 7 we saw the advisory that it was moved to 10:30 timeslot.

that day. they decided to move it that day! freaks...

we did nto regret waiting for it though, coz we loved the semi-finalists! i am going to vote for ruther (with puppets) and the baguio siblings. i know jovit has enough votes to continue..

anyways last night we watched how to train your dragon instead, and we ended up liking it so much! i am going to name our first family pet toothless! and im going to buy jared the dvd so he can watch it when he's old enough to understand.

this afternoon while i was sitting near the window i was thinking of a name for a girl... only in my mind. but when i came to think of tuscany i felt bop-bop-baby move for the first time! and then a lot of times after that. it was so early... i don't remember the exact date when jared moved but i think it was further along 4-5th month...

well, im almost four months and im still clueless for a baby's name. bambi keeps suggesting weird names to me and unlike jared's name which just popped up and we actually both liked it, right now its taking some time before we can both agree on a girl or a boy's name.

oh how i hate the fatigue that comes with my second pregnancy. although it subsided a little coz im in my second trimester now i still feel sleepy most of the time, and i spend my whole off-day yesterday sleeping.

yet i gained nothing more than .95 pounds between my 2nd-3rd month. i didn't know how that happened since i had a schedule of eating at 7am - 10am - 1pm - 4pm - 7pm - and sometimes at 10pm. and i drank a lot of soft drinks and ate a lot of ice creams. oh well, moving on...

after deciding and undeciding and then deciding again to stay in manila when we go home in december, i now can't wait and i've stared at my house models the whole morning and afternoon, thinking about the future and the reality that i will take care of my children alone. if candy didn't call last week (she gave birth recently) to ask how to clean her baby's belly button, i never would have realized how lucky i was to have francis do everything when i gave birth before. for the frightening first week at least. and so i contemplated again about leaving him here.

but, to my sister's despair when she finds out, we have both decided for me and our two children to go home. there were so many explanations and discussions to come up with that decision but we both agreed to buckle up and gear for the ride, or so they say.

and im not going to justify our decision, ok. we both agreed. we both are involved. so we both will take the consequence.

anyways on a lighter note i have found a lot of old friends in facebook recently. it makes you realize how people change and how the past seems so good to come back to. but the good thing is that we have all found our happy place in the present.

i still haven't made my personal rave about too-faced shadow insurance and urban decay primer potion, but with thousands of reviews in the internet, i don't think i'll add more. i was just happy to have them. and i am now longing for their sustainable shadow box... wheee...

and you know what i realized this morning? that sparkling gray cream liner is better than black! its the 'lava' cream liner from smashbox. i was surprised! i still has the dark effect that i want, plus it has sparkles that lifts up my eyelashes, i love it so much! pix soon, you know what they said about photos and pregnant women hehe!

thank goodness!

i am almost fed up with the fatigue and sleepiness. i will have my 3rd prenatal tomorrow and hopefully everything's still fine, coz now and then i feel my stomach tightening a little bit. and next month i hope i can start to feel when he kicks, its one of the perks of being pregnant!

i started to avoid the kitchen nowadays, and i just have our food delivered by a catering service, which gives me time to sleep more :) but sometimes bambi is being stubborn and not eating just because 'i didn't cook it'. seriously, would he rather eat what i i cook?

unlike the first weeks of my pregnancy when i was loaded with work, these days i am so bored just counting the time to freedom... which is as bad as being overworked. at least when you're working time flies fast.

anyways its almost 7 and im about to go out. bambi and i are supposed to visit one friend who just gave birth and im still thinking of what to send...

since we realized im pregnant, i have been to 2 pre-natal checkups already, 2 ultrasounds, and hundreds of cravings.

but there are foods that i stay away from, because they are dangerous to me and my baby. some item may sound weird but there is nothing to lose if i abstain from them for just 9 months, to be safe, like pain medications, even if they say it's safe. that's why I thank God that my headache does not last that long, coz i don't want any complications.

i also do not eat soft cheese anymore, you know, the white cheese that goes with salad? i loved it with khubus. and liver spread, coz too much vitamin a in liver and im already taking a multivitamin. vitaminosis happens when you take too much vitamin a and it sort of backfires with complications. what else, left-over salads and cold cut sandwiches (unless microwaved steaming hot), basically uncooked food, for fear of contaminations; raw eggs or eggs not cooked properly, unpasteurized milk (i called a milk manufacturer once just to check if the bottled milk im drinking has been pasteurized {idiot})!

and then some which have no scientific reason but basically old wive's tales like eggplant, coz it will cause purple discoloration to the baby's skin.

and then those that i want but i don't really need, like biscuits (currently finishing my 3rd can), candies, ice cream, soft drinks and potato chips :D

last last thursday i had to walk past my house to two streets more just to wait 30 minutes for my daing na bangus order, last thursday i had to walk at the opposite direction to my house from the office coz i wanted a turkey sandwich, and this morning i quietly went out of the office to our nearest supermarket which is a corner away just to buy skittles.

this baby wants to eat a lot! and not only that, im addicted to mostly junk foods, and soft drinks... i know i had to stop it, let's just consider it a one-week relapse ok?

seriously, i feel like ive been doing construction work for the past month, even early in the morning i feel sleepy and lethargic. and it does not go away even after my 1 hour siesta in the afternoon.

what can i expect, my body is growing another human being and it is no easy task. i just thought it would be as breezy as my first pregnancy.

i had so much to blog but can't find the will to do so, photos and stories are being dumped in my desktop but i just feel so withdrawn and all i want to do is sleep. one day is not enough. i lost interest in my job and i was always thinking of an excuse for not going.

and i think i scared on of my colleagues when he found me crying out of frustration in my desk. haha. that was the highlight of my day yesterday.

kristinne is fed up.

it has been the most tiring 2 weeks of my life. even if i have received half of my ebay purchases from last month, it wasn't enough to make me happy and blog.

it started with this sensor...

it's supposed to be cute coz it's hello kitty, but i hated the reason why it's lighting up so i took it off my blackberry and attached it to my roaming mobile instead.

when i was in college i had a simple sticker sensor at the back of my nokia 3310 that lights up when it receives a call or an sms. and it made me giggle when it lights up because it means i will receive an sms from bambi soon. so i had such good memories of it.

unfortunately at this time of my life and even if i have a blackberry, i want to throw away the phone when it lights up especially when im at home coz it only means my boss is going to call and i would probably be searching the internet for something or maybe i did something wrong for the day.

dang i really hated him this week! it seems my stress level has been up all the time even if i have probably the same amount of work, its just that everytime he calls and asks me to canvass a price for something (5-6 items this week from more than 10 suppliers) it really takes up a lot of time and at the end he changes his mind and i really want to hit the phone so hard at my table just so i wouldn't scream!

my darn hormones are probably to blame. my first pregnancy was such a breeze compared to this. starting this week i started to lose appetite and was just eating junk foods even though im really hungry coz the thought of rice and viand makes me vomit. i was just eating bread yesterday all afternoon. plain bread and water. i had to, coz i feel sick when im hungry, but ill feel sick when im too full.

ooh, i saw camella's ad yesterday! those three kids strolling along their village, and they had ice cream... then i wanted to eat ice cream, too! so bambi bought one for me, london dairy no less! but, i didn't eat much because guess what...? it wasn't on a cone like those kids had. yay... is this what pregnancy blues mean?

i really miss my son! he wasn't this picky when he was in my tummy... not even one bit. i was watching his videos yesterday and i missed him terribly, and i wanted to make time pass so quick and make it december already... anyways, 10 more months and ill be free from waking up so early just to be scolded, free from my boss' (sometimes) unreasonable mood swings, free from being disturbed at home for more work. free, free, free.

anyways, i have some new stuff that i wanted to review so im going back to work and post them later.

it has been a great week for me!

i was originally planning to write a post about my terrific tuesday, but my luck ran through the rest of the week!

first, i was so happy to go to bcc with maricel last tuesday, coz with a girl i can go to shops that bambi cannot, and test their products on another person without complaints! when we were with irish before, we always pass by mac to put on eyeshadows and liners.

even if we were there for only two hours we went home happy coz we both had what we came for.

she bought a nipper (which made her very happy, as in very happy, because of a nipper)... and i was able to buy too faced shadow insurance. at last! they have it in stock!

i always check it in sephora but its always out of stock, so even if i am waiting for my primer potion, i still stocked up on it and maybe sell the potion to maricel or irish, if i find shadow insurance better than it. or maybe keep them both :) *vain*

i also bought a purifying brush shampoo, but im gonna return it coz the sales lady demonstrated the spray one, but she placed the gel type on my bag. i was so disappointed when i found out at home.

in fairness, she gave me a lot of sephora mattifying primer samples. and these can last me for almost a month!

i also bought a nice-looking violet shade of nail polish from claire's... i was so excited to use this!

but all of my nail art will be put on hold because of a surprise!

then wednesday morning, four parcels from ebay came!

first was the nyx lipglosses from u.s.!

in three beautiful shades!!!

pinky natural is my best lip gloss color coz it matches with any eyeshadow, apricot is a little turn-down coz the color is diluted, and soap opera queen is the most glamorous! although, since i have been satisfied with long-lasting lip products i find that they fade too quickly. and i hated reapplying.

i also received my avon mirror shine silver nail polish (for subtle konad effects like this one i found online:)

and 2 bottles of cuticle oils (coz kristelle took mine away),

i cannot believe that he bought this. i told him so many times that i don't need a new mobile. actually, i was really hoping to buy the hello kitty one. but this is so freaking amazing and did not hesitate to accept it! haha! now i have my n95 as my roaming mobile. *evil laugh*

then thursday morning i received my nail art brushes. they are so cute! and soft, and stiff, and i was so excited to use them. but, as i was saying, all nail art sessions are cancelled until further notice...

then, (i saved the best for last), thursday night was the night when we found out that jared is officially a big brother!

the biggest surprise of my week! i am 6 weeks pregnant!!! i think i am still in shock and in awe, i cannot feel that im pregnant, nothing has changed in me, and there were no signs except that i was delayed, but there it is (with jared's result last 2007), and it is confirmed - i will be a mom of two!!!

what a blessed blessed week for me! that's why i was so engrossed in cleaning our room today, as in super cleaning, not just wiping and stuff, and doing the laundry. and it is a two-week's worth of laundry!

this is where i say thank You, for all the blessings, especially the one inside me.

when friends become too busy

last night, we invited irish to pass by the office to 'accompany' me and maricel at american mission hospital for my check-up.

but it really was a kidnapping scheme, to get irish to come to our office with urgency. coz maricel and i were actually planning to go to the mall. we knew irish would bail at something that shallow, since her job is a full-time thing now.

its just that it has been along time since the three of us bonded, so we made up a story and told irish that it was important for me to have her there.

unfortunately, work was still the winning team. can i imagine irish being so dedicated to her job to leave me with maricel? it would be funny!

or maybe that moral support theory was not that convincing after all.

but it would also be the truth. she has been so busy these days, and not unlike our previous ex-colleagues, she moved on and forgot...

maybe it is really so immature of me to force her to come here when she has to work. it's not really like she was just being lazy or she wanted to hang out with different people now.

yeah, maybe i was being unfair. but i also think that friends should make an effort to meet with old friends, especially those funny ones, because they're such good people to hang out with :P *selfish*

and speaking of prenatal check-ups, bambi is still not convinced that baby number 2 is on the way. he has a lot of theories, like it's just cold, or maybe you drank a lot of coffee last month... and since i blew up my chance of knowing the results because of stupidly dropping the wiwi on the wrong place (where the results will show), i just have to wait until the 15th, exactly two weeks of delayed period before i decide to really go to the hospital, and not the mall.

for people who thought marriage was easy...

you are all in for a rude awakening.

ok, given that there would be moments when you wish time would stop, that life was so sweet and you can live forever in just one place with your better-half, that's because your just beginning.

im not saying that marriage isn't bliss, its just that i have come to realize that it takes a lot of work, and i mean it when i say that it will take a lot of effort to make your relationship work.

there were times when talking isn't the solution, because it leads to more fighting. you don't understand each other even if you try to. you will be asking yourself what's the point of staying, when everyday you just make each other mad. and time will come when you would just want to take the easy way out, coz it seems so hard to continue.

but why do we stay? why do we put ourselves at stake? why are we willing to humiliate ourselves, why would we lay down everything for the one person who basically is just another person in this planet?

then you realize what problems our parents or our grandparents must have suffered in their own, just to get to the point where they are and still stay together. what did they sacrifice? what did they do to make it last?

i did not know that it would be so complicated to intertwine your life with another person.

i have been searching for an inexpensive blush brush since my body shop blush brush is now disfigured. its just 3 years old and barely used. oh well...

when buying makeup brushes i always choose the ones at the back, coz the front ones were probably touched and rubbed a lot of times by a lot of people to check if its soft or the bristles are rough. especially in packages that can be opened. even if i do wash it before use, i still don't want to think that my brush has been contaminated.

this one's soft and cheap. what a deal!

one more brush i bought is a face brush, which i saw on youtube is a great exfoliating brush. just apply cleanser on your face and brush gently in circular motion. its supposed to get rid of whitehead and blackheads.

next is an eyelid protector when applying your mascara without smudging it on your eyelids. i was so happy! i was searching in ebay for something like this and turns out i have it in my neighborhood!?!

the hole in the middle is for your upper lashes, to allow you to put mascara on every single lash without smudging on your eyelids. the top part is for your lower lashes. and the bottom is for combing out your lashes afterwards.

i also bought a nice smelling nail polish remover. ok first, when my sister bought a nice-smelling nail polish remover before, it was not so easy to take off your nail polish and it takes a long time for you to finish. so i went back to acetone-based nail polish remover, which removes np as fast as melting them and keeps the np in the cotton ball and not on your fingers. this one, however doesn't smell as strong as my normal acetone bottle, just a little. it also rubs off your np with ease, but with black np i've found out that it drips the np on your fingers and so making your fingers look like a farmer's finger at the end of a long day.

and when i passed by a cold store guess what i found!?!?!?!

anyways, i did not do anything today, apart from cleaning the room. it has been decided that laundry and grocery will be done tomorrow coz its bambi's off, so today i just lazed off in the afternoon sun.

in the morning i talked to bambi's mom and she was ok, i saw jared and he was concentrating on staring at another monitor. he is kind of darker than when i last saw him. and he was oblibivious to our faces on the screen.

in the afternoon after talking to my brothers and mother in ym i have found out that my mother in law talked to two of my aunties, who lives near their house and she was still saying that i can't go to their house when i go home. i can't believe that she still hasn't moved on! my mother and i agreed to let her do what she wants, we'll just let her be. as far as i know, she has forgiven me already. if she is still telling people about what happened then that's her deal. i am shutting my mouth on the subject.

on another subject, my half-sister, rj, is going to celebrate her birthday on the 11th and today my mother and her father had a fight. he left them, which he usually does for a while to cool off so im sure he'll be back. that's why i promised rj i'll send something to let them celebrate her birthday.

my two brothers are still undecided on what to do with their lives. i told them to stop their illusion that im gonna bring them here because i wont, not without a college degree or a decent job experience.

kristelle, on the other hand, is suffering from migraine for 4 days now. i am also going to ask the office about her uniform's encashment coz she said she would like to have a CT scan to check if there is something wrong. i sure hope not, but im really hoping she will realize that excessive fatigue and excessive eating, along with turning on the ac after a long walk, is bad for her health. she keeps ignoring her body's warning that she is not living healthily. wake up sis!
